The Charlotte Hornets were rumored to be interested in trading up near the 2026 NBA Draft, holding both the No. 14 and No. 18 overall selections. According to ESPN's Anthony Slater, Charlotte did try and make a move near the top-10.
Slater reported Thursday that the Hornets offered both the No. 14 overall pick and a future selection to the Golden State Warriors in exchange for the No. 11 overall pick. While it was never revealed who the Hornets could have been targeting at No. 11 had the deal been finalized, their need for frontcourt help could have led them to select one of two Michigan Wolverines, Yaxel Lendeborg who was selected No. 11 overall, or Aday Mara who went to the Oklahoma City Thunder one pick later.
Either way, they ended up keeping
both of their first-round selections, who turned out to be Hannes Steinbach and Christian Anderson Jr.
