Rookie Caleb Wilson registered his first career 30-point double-double on Saturday, leading the Chicago Bulls (1-2) in a loss to the Washington Wizards.
Wilson finished with a team-high 30 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, two steals and one blocked shot in the 124-120 loss at the United Center. He shot 10-for-24 from the field and was a plus-14 on the court in 38 minutes, 22 seconds.
The fourth overall pick became one of eight Bulls rookies to record at least 30 points and 10 rebounds, joining Michael Jordan, Charles Oakley and Lauri Markkanen, among others. He had 17 points in the first half alone, helping the Bulls lead at the break.
"Just being aggressive," said Wilson of his performance, via CHGO Sports. "The Wizards are a team that is really
big. Opportunities are in transition because they have so much size, so I was just using that to my advantage, trying to get downhill and create opportunities for myself."

Wilson is averaging 22.3 points, eight rebounds, two steals, 1.3 assists and 1.3 blocks while shooting 40.7% from the field in three appearances. He is already one of two first-year players to score 30 or more points in a game this season (Darius Acuff Jr.).
The 20-year-old has emerged as a key contributor for coach Tiago Splitter early on, providing versatility on both ends of the court. He is working diligently to learn the Bulls' system while dedicating himself in the gym to become one of the team's leaders.
Wilson is off to a productive start and is solidifying his place on the team. He was pleased to turn in such a strong performance on Saturday in front of the home fans, but he wants to keep working to deliver a win at the United Center.
"I wish I could have gotten them a win," Wilson said. "It was a crazy atmosphere, great fans and it is a beautiful environment. I'm excited to get that first win in the U.C.; I feel like it'll make a lot of people happy."
