Ahead of the 2026-27 NBA season, Sportico released a list of the 10 most valuable NBA franchises, which included the Houston Rockets. At $6.92 billion, Houston came in at No. 10, just behind the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets. The top five contained three West Coast teams, including the Golden State Warriors (No. 1), the Los Angeles Lakers (No. 3) and the Los Angeles Clippers (No. 4).
Houston's evaluation has nearly tripled recently, as the Rockets were worth $2.47 billion in 2020, according to Forbes. From the 2014-15 season to the 2019-2020 campaign, the Rockets made the Western Conference semifinals in five out of six seasons, including two trips to the Western Conference Finals.
Their strongest season in that span came during the 2017-18
campaign, where the Rockets finished 65-17 under head coach Mike D'Antoni and league MVP James Harden.
