Former No. 6 overall pick and 14-year NBA veteran Danilo Gallinari sat down for an interview with HoopsHype recently, discussing some of the league's best players. In the discussion, Gallinari gave credit to Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant as one of the top five players in the league, saying, "Current Top 5, I always, I guess I always go with the old heads first: Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James. And then I put Anthony Edwards and Nikola Jokic."
Most well known for his six seasons on the Denver Nuggets, "Gallo" had an impressive NBA career despite many injuries. In 14 seasons, Gallinari played 777 games and averaged 14.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.3 blocks while shooting 38.1% from 3-point range. The
strongest season of his career came during the 2018-19 season, where he averaged 19.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 0.7 steals for the Los Angeles Clippers. Unfortunately for the Italian forward, he suffered two ACL tears during his career, one as a member of the Nuggets and another after signing a free agent contract with the Boston Celtics.
