Former Houston Rockets forward Corey Brewer landed a new role earlier this week, joining Arkansas State as an assistant coach. Prior to his new job, Brewer spent six seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans following his 13-year NBA career. He spent four seasons with New Orleans in a player development role before being promoted to an assistant coach for the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons. However, Brewer still competes in the sport as well, playing for the BIG3 league during the summer.
Of his 13 NBA seasons, Brewer's second-longest stop was with Houston, playing in 196 games for the Rockets over three seasons. In those games, Brewer averaged 7.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.2 blocks in 20.4 minutes per game. Although he was never
an All-Star caliber player, the former Florida Gator knows what it takes to succeed, winning two NCAA titles during his career and the 2011 NBA Finals with the Dallas Mavericks.
