Current Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant has been a mainstay for Team USA at the Olympics recently, winning four consecutive Olympic gold medals. In doing so, Durant became the first American male basketball player to win four gold medals, and he also became the first male athlete to win four Olympic gold medals in a team sport. Despite nearing his 38th birthday, Durant has expressed a desire to represent Team USA at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles as well.
Additionally, Durant revealed another "bucket list" goal of his for Team USA, saying, "One of my main goals is to be the GM of Team USA. In one of these Olympics, one of these years, I want to do that job one time." Currently, the title of Team USA Men's Basketball managing director
belongs to 18-year NBA veteran and Hall of Famer Grant Hill. However, given his status as the most decorated American Olympian in the sport of basketball, Durant's resume may earn him the opportunity he is hoping for.
