The Arizona Cardinals and New York Giants have played each other a lot in their history. Their rivalry goes back 100 years. They faced each other for the first time in 1926 and will clash on Sunday for the 130th time.
The Cardinals have played the Giants more in their history than any other team, and the Giants have historically dominated.
The Giants lead the series 81-46-2 all-time, and the two teams have never faced each other in the postseason.
However, the Cardinals have won four of the last five meetings and, since the 2002 realignment that put the Cardinals in the NFC West, the Cardinals are 7-4 against the Giants. Before that, from 1988-2001 when the Cardinals were in the NFC East and had moved from St. Louis to Arizona, the Giants won 21
of 28 matchups.
Here is a look at the last five meetings.
2023: Giants 31, Cardinals 28
The Cardinals blew a 20-0 and 28-7 lead to the Giants. Daniel Jones threw two touchdown passes and rushed for another in the second half, leading the Giants to a last-minute game-winning field goal.
2020: Cardinals 26, Giants 7
Haason Reddick sacked Daniel Jones five times, and Jones passed for only 127 yards. He was sacked a total of six times.
2019: Cardinals 27, Giants 21
In QB Kyler Murray's rookie season, they won for the third game in a row behind running back Chase Edmonds' 126 rushing yards and three touchdowns. The defense sacked Jones eight times and picked him off once. Chandler Jones had four sacks by himself.
2017: Cardinals 23, Giants 0
Drew Stanton threw two touchdown passes, and the defense intercepted Eli Manning twice. The Cardinals had a defensive touchdown on a fumble return by second-year defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche.
2014: Cardinals 25, Giants 14
Despite only passing for 167 yards, backup QB Drew Stanton led the Cardinals to a win. Ted Ginn Jr. returned a punt for a touchdown, and the defense picked off Eli Manning twice and sacked him twice.
