The Arizona Cardinals have agreed to keep one of their offensive linemen around a little longer. They announced that center Hjalte Froholdt signed a two-year contract extension, keeping him with the team through 2028.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the two-year extension is worth $20 million.
Froholdt was scheduled to make $4.77 million in salary and was paid a $500,000 roster bonus in March. He was scheduled to count almost $7.0 million against the cap.
We will see what the actual terms for the contract end up being. Some of that reported $20 million will be paid this year in a signing bonus.
Froholdt is on his third two-year deal. He signed a two-year contract 2023. He signed a two-year extension in 2024 to keep him under contract through
this coming season, and now he gets another two years beyond this season. He has started every game of the last three years at center and has played almost every snap, logging 99%, 98% and 99% of the team's snaps over the last three seasons.
This means that all five starting offensive linemen are under contract through at least 2027.
