The Arizona Cardinals open their 2026 regular season on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers. They kick off at 4:25 p.m. ET (1:25 p.m. Arizona time) from SoFi Stadium. One of the biggest questions entering this matchup is whether or not Cardinals rookie running back Jeremiyah Love, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft, will be able to play.
He suffered a high ankle sprain in the preseason in the Cardinals' 27-14 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Aug. 13. He did not play again in the preseason after 11 rushing attempts and three receptions.
Is Jeremiyah Love playing today?
Love was listed officially as questionable to play on the Cardinals' final injury report of the week, and he was a limited participant in all three days of practice. However, head coach Mike LaFleur
was optimistic all week that Love would be able to play, and it was reported on Friday that Love is expected to play. On Saturday, the Cardinals did not elevate a running back from the practice squad, which means Love is good to go, as the Cardinals have only three running backs on the roster — Love, Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight.
How long was Jeremiyah Love out?
Love has not played since the Cardinals' second game of the preseason on Aug. 13 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
We will see how much he plays with Allgeier healthy and listed as the No. 1 running back on the Cardinals' depth chart.
