The NFL announced conference players of the week for play in Week 1, and the Arizona Cardinals had one player honored. Receiver Simi Fehoko was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Fehoko blocked a punt in the Cardinals' 26-14 Week 1 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. He was the only player in the league to block a punt in Week 1. It was the first blocked punt for the Cardinals since 2020, and it was the first time the Chargers had a punt blocked since 2021.
He also had two special teams tackles.
It is Fehoko's first career player of the week honors.
The last time the Cardinals had a Special Teams Player of the Week, it was punter Blake Gillikin in Week 9 of 2024.
