The San Francisco 49ers concluded their practice week Friday in preparation for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals and released their final injury report of Week 3.
The defensive linemen out for Sunday are defensive ends Nick Bosa and Romelo Height, and defensive tackle James Thompson Jr. That’s coupled with defensive tackle C.J. West, who was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.
Bosa suffered a calf injury Thursday doing his own warmup prior to the team’s walkthrough before practice.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan said, “Losing Bosa was rough yesterday. Losing six out of the 10 D-linemen in the last two weeks that had made our team is a little unusual. Don’t think I’ve been a part of that, so that has been different.”
One 49ers insider projected
the starting line Sunday would be defensive ends Keion White and Khalid Kareem, and defensive tackles Osa Odighizuwa and Naquan Jones. Kareem went to training camp with the Giants, was released in the cut to 53 and then added to the 49ers practice squad on Sept. 5.
Jones was in camp with the Texans, was released in the cut to 53 and then signed to the Vikings practice squad which the 49ers signed him from this week. Another potential elevation from the practice squad comes from a group of defensive tackles Kevin Givens, Sebastian Valdez and Isaac Alarcon.
