The Arizona Cardinals will be without starting right guard Isaiah Adams for at least four games. Already ruled out with an ankle injury in Week 5 with an ankle injury, the Cardinals placed him on injured reserve, meaning he will miss at least four weeks.
Adams has played in three games this season. He missed Week 1 with a knee injury and suffered an ankle injury in Week 4. The earliest he can return is in Week 9 when the Cardinals play the Seattle Seahawks. He will, at minimum, miss games against the Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Rams, Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys.
That means Jon Gaines will get another start. He started in Week 1 and replaced Adams after he got hurt last week. Gaines started five games at left guard last season.
The Cardinals
placed left tackle Paris Johnson on injured reserve earlier in the week with a season-ending biceps injury, so the Cardinals will be down two starters for the foreseeable future.
In a corresponding roster move, the Cardinals elevated cornerback Art Green from the practice squad to the active roster.
The moves give the Cardinals eight offensive linemen on the active roster and seven cornerbacks.
The starting offensive line for the Cardinals against the Lions will be:
- LT Jayden Williams
- LG Isaac Seumalo
- C Hjalte Froholdt
- RG Jon Gaines
- RT Elijah Wilkinson
At cornerback, the Cardinals will have these players available, although at least one will likely be inactive:
- Max Melton
- Denzel Burke
- Garrett Williams
- Kei'Trel Clark
- Star Thomas
- Kalen King
- Art Green
