The Arizona Cardinals lost on Sunday 36-30 to the San Francisco 49ers, but they didn't fall further in the newest NFL power rankings from NFL.com's Nick Shook. After tumbling 11 spots following their Week 2 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, they actually moved up four slots after the loss to the Niners.
They are now No. 26 after they were 30th starting Week 3.
I’ll give credit to the Cardinals for refusing to quit Sunday in a game in which lesser teams would have laid down and accepted defeat. There is still plenty to clean up, especially for a defense that gave up a ton of big plays to the 49ers.
They are now ahead of the LA Chargers, which makes sense, especially since LA is 0-3 with a season-opening loss to the Cardinals. They are also ahead of the Green
Bay Packers, whose defensive coordinator is former Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon.
They rank just behind the New York Giants, their Week 4 opponent. The Giants fell four spots after their unimpressive 12-7 win over the Tennessee Titans.
