In the NFC West, the San Francisco 49ers remain atop the division, and the Arizona Cardinals are in the cellar. All four teams played in Week 4, and all but the Cardinals won.
Here are the latest NFC West standings as Week 5 begins.

- Seattle Seahawks, 3-1 (1-0 division)
- Los Angeles Rams, 2-2 (0-1 division)
- Arizona Cardinals, 1-3 (0-2 division)
This week, tiebreakers do not apply. All four teams have a different record and are one game behind the team ahead of them.
Let's have a look at what happened in Week 4 and what is coming up on the schedule in Week 5.
Week 4 results in NFC West
The Cardinals had the first game to finish in the division. Jacoby Brissett was picked off three times, and the Cardinals blew a 14-3 lead, losing 36-24 to the New York Giants on the road. Giants QB Jameis Winston threw three touchdown passes and was picked off twice and sacked four times.
The Rams fell
behind 20-10 to the Philadelphia Eagles, but running back Kyren Williams' two fourth-quarter touchdowns gave the Rams a 24-20 win. QB Matthew Stafford did not have a touchdown pass and was picked off twice. Williams rushed for 80 yards and two scores on 16 carries. Receiver Puka Nacua made his 2026 debut and caught nine passes for 125 yards.
The Seahawks bounced back from their Week 3 loss to the Washington Commanders and kept the Los Angeles Chargers winless, beating them 30-23 in Seattle. They intercepted Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert twice and sacked him three times. They led 20-3 and 30-13 before the Chargers scored 10 points in the fourth quarter. Sam Darnold passed for 168 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
The 49ers improved to 4-0 with a 24-14 home win over the Denver Broncos. QB Brock Purdy passed for 218 yards and another two touchdowns. They held the Broncos to 296 total yards and only one touchdown.
Coming up in the NFC West in Week 5
All four teams play in Week 5.
The Cardinals are at home against the 2-2 Detroit Lions.
The 49ers and Seahawks will battle for first place, playing a late afternoon game in Seattle. A Seahawks win will put them in first place, while a win by the 49ers will give them a two-game lead over Seattle.
The Rams will play on Monday night, hosting the 3-1 Buffalo Bills.
