The Arizona Cardinals and the Baltimore Ravens have announced and completed their trade involving quarterback Jacoby Brissett. Officially, the Cardinals announced that Brissett was traded to the Ravens for undisclosed draft compensation.
Others have reported the compensation.
The Cardinals are sending Brissett and a 2027 fifth-round pick to the Ravens for a 2027 fourth-round pick and a 2028 seventh-round selection. They move up a round next year and get a pick in Round 7 in 2028, so roughly the value of a sixth-round pick, which is reasonable. The Ravens didn't have any selections after Round 4 in the 2027 draft.
The Cardinals reportedly paid roughly half of the $5.4 million in salary he is due as a bonus before the trade, so the Ravens will be on the hook
for about $2.43 million for the rest of the season.
Brissett became available after he was benched in the second of the Cardinals' 33-30 overtime win over the Dallas Cowboys. After the game, the Cardinals began making trade calls on Sunday, and when Brissett was told he was moving to the No. 3 QB spot on the depth chart, he reportedly requested a trade.
Now the deal is done, and Brissett has been in Baltimore for about a day.
Gardner Minshew and rookie Carson Beck are now the only quarterbacks on the team. With the trade, the Cardinals now have another vacancy on the active roster. They have 51 players currently on the 53-man roster after roster moves earlier in the week and the trade today.
