The Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Rams meet for the first time this season on Sunday. Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur was on the Rams' coaching staff for three seasons as their offensive coordinator before hired by Arizona. But when it comes to players, there are few connections between the two teams.
The Cardinals have zero former Rams on their roster. The Rams have two former Cardinals, but both spent very lilttl time Arizona.
Rams OL Coleman Shelton
Shelton has been in the NFL since 2018, and has spent seven seasons with the Rams. However, he was with the Cardinals before he ever played an NFL game. He spent time on Arizona's practice squad in 2018 and then was on the offseason roster before getting cut before the 2019 season. Since then, he has played in 112
games and has started 71. He has been a full-time starting center for five seasons.
Rams RB Ronnie Rivers
Rivers is currently on injured reserve. He has been with the Rams since 2022. But his NFL career started with the Cardinals, signing as a rookie free agent in 2022. He was released during training camp.
