Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Walter Nolen's rookie season was derailed by injuries, as he played in only six games all season. They need him healthy, which is why there could be some concern after Friday's practice.
Nolen exited practice with trainers and it appeared to be his left knee, the same knee he injured last season.
Cardinals.com's Dani Surek saw trainers looking at Nolen's left knee. He then tried some squats and jogging, but then left the field with a trainer. AZCentral Sports' Theo Mackie observed that Nolen "was walking gingerly" as he left the field.
The Cardinals are off on Saturday, so no one will be able to ask head coach Mike LaFleur about it until Sunday.
There is a report that the Cardinals will be signing a defensive
lineman, but that also could be because P.J. Mustipher has been out.
Losing Nolen for any significant amount of time would be a huge loss for the Cardinals. He didn't get any work in training camp last year, and the defensive line has no real difference makers, except for potentially Nolen and Darius Robinson.
It will be something to watch in the days to come. Will he be out a few days or a few weeks?
