Arizona Cardinals running back Trey Benson has had both his NFL seasons shortened by injuries. Last season, a knee injury limited him to only four games, and trying to come back late in the season, he had a setback and couldn't return.
He apparently is injured again. He was not seen on the field at State Farm Stadium on Sunday when the team practiced.
Head coach Mike LaFleur did not mention Benson ahead of practice when he addressed reporters.
Benson is already on the roster bubble with the additions of running backs Tyler Allgeier and Jeremiyah Love in free agency and the draft. He is fourth on the depth chart, which would be more of a special teams role, and he has never played any special teams in the NFL.
His potential injury will be one to
watch as preseason games begin this week.
