The Arizona Cardinals and the rest of the NFL have until 6 p.m. ET (3 p.m. Arizona time) to get their rosters down to 53 players. Some cuts are beginning to be reported before teams make their official roster move announcements.
One of the several reported cuts for the Cardinals is linebacker Owen Pappoe.
Pappoe played three seasons for the Cardinals and was drafted by them in the fifth round in 2023. He played over 300 special teams snaps in each of the last two seasons, but it would appear that rookie Karson Sharar, selected in the sixth round this year, beat him out for the final inside linebacker spot on the roster behind Mack Wilson, Jack Gibbens and Cody Simon.
In three seasons, he appeared in 49 games, starting twice, and he had 66 total
tackles.
He will have to clear waivers to be able to re-sign with the practice squad, if that is something the Cardinals hope to do with him.
