The Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys have faced each other many times. While it isn't one of their longest-running opponents, they have played a lot. Dating back to their first meeting in 1960, they have played each other 92 times in the regular season and once in the playoffs.
The Cowboys have dominated the all-time series, but the Cardinals have dominated the last almost 20 years.
The Cowboys are 56-35-1 in the regular season against the Cardinals all-time. The Cardinals are 1-0 in the playoffs against them (longtime fans remember the 1998 season and that win over Dallas in Dallas).
But the Cardinals are 8-1 in their last nine meetings and have won the last four matchups.
The Cowboys' only win since 2006 was in 2017, the second year in the NFL
for Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.
The Cardinals have also never lost a regular-season game to the Cowboys in AT&T Stadium. They are 4-0 there.
It led Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb to say this about the Cardinals, a team he has never beaten since entering the league.
"Yeah, it's just crazy," Lamb saidvia the Cowboys' team site. "[We were] being very, very relaxed, and they punched us in the mouth every single time. They've always had more energy They were more excited, regardless of if it was a 12 o'clock, Sunday night or Monday night.
"We've played them in prime time, they beat us there. So, we need to treat them as if they are a Super Bowl-contending team, which they may be, you know what I'm saying? Hats off to them in their prep, and we just got to go match them. If not overpowered that."
The Cardinals are hardly a contending team. They are 2-5. However, they seem to have the Cowboys' number.
Starting in 2008, quarterbacks Kurt Warner, John Skelton, Kevin Kolb, Carson Palmer, Kyler Murray (twice), Josh Dobbs and Jacoby Brissett have beaten the Cowboys.
These are the scores of the last nine meetings:
- 2025, Cardinals 27, Cowboys 17: This was Brissett's only win as a starter last season.
- 2023, Cardinals 28, Cowboys 16: This was Josh Dobbs' only win as a starter for the Cardinals.
- 2022, Cardinals 25, Cowboys 22: Kyler Murray threw two touchdown passes, and they built a 22-7 lead.
- 2020, Cardinals 38, Cowboys 10: Murray threw two touchdown passes and rushed for another, and the defense picked off Andy Dalton twice and sacked him three times.
- 2017, Cowboys 28, Cardinals 17: Carson Palmer was sacked six times, and Dak Prescott threw two touchdown passes and rushed for another.
- 2014, Cardinals 28, Cowboys 17: This was Carson Palmer beating Brandon Weeden.
- 2011, Cardinals 19, Cowboys 13 (OT): LaRod Stephens-Howling had a 52-yard touchdown catch-and-run in overtime from Kevni Kolb.
- 2010, Cardinals 27, Cowboys 26: John Skelton's first career start was a Christmas miracle with a game-winning field goal by Jay Feely.
- 2008, Cardinals 30, Cowboys 24 (OT): The Cardinals blocked a punt in overtime and returned it for a touchdown.
