The Arizona Cardinals, following their 26-14 Week 1 upset win over the Los Angeles Chargers, suddenly are getting a little respect from oddsmakers. As Week 2 odds and lines opened, they are not big underdogs in Week 2.
The Cardinals will play their home opener in Week 2, hosting the defending champion Seattle Seahawks Sunday afternoon at 4:25 p.m. ET (1:25 p.m. Arizona time).
When betting odds were set last May when the NFL schedule was released, the Cardinals were 10-point home underdogs in Week 2. That is no longer the case.
It is the combination of the Cardinals' surprising win and the fact that the Seahawks will play the Cardinals without starting quarterback Sam Darnold, who injured his hip in Week 1. Drew Lock will start against the Cardinals.
So what are the betting odds as Week 2 lines open?
We have the numbers from BetMGM Sportsbook.
Cardinals vs. Seahawks Week 2 betting odds, lines
Moneyline
- Seahawks -210 (bet $210 to win $100)
- Cardinals +175 (bet $100 to win $175)
With these odds, the Seahawks are presumed to be about 31% more likely to win than the Cardinals.
Against the spread
- Seahawks -4.5 (-108)
- Cardinals +4.5 (-110)
The spread has been cut by more than half. A Seahawks ATS bet cashes if they win by at least five points. A Cardinals ATS bet cashes if they win outright, if they tie or if they lost by no more than four points.
Total
- Over 41 (-110)
- Under 41 (-108)
For the Over to win, the Cardinals and Seahawks must combine for at least 42 points. With a combined total of 40 or less, the Under cashes, while totaling exactly 41 would result in a push, and all wagers would be refunded.
The total in the Seahawks' win in Week 1 was 23. The total for the Cardinals' win was 40.
