Arizona Cardinals linebacker Mack Wilson Sr. was missing in action as he watched the Seattle Seahawks torch his team 44-22 on Nov. 9 last season. The Cardinals defense was however impressive in their 26-14 win over the Los Angeles Chargers last Sunday, and Wilson is looking to ride that momentum into week two versus their NFC West rival.
The Seahawks offensive attack wasn't exactly optimal versus the New England Patriots in week one and perhaps Cardinals defensive coordinator Nick Rallis has been studying the game tape. Seahawks rookie running back Jadarian Price totaled 52 yards on 10 carries but the Seahawks were forced to punt five times throughout the game. Only a late game interception by New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye surrendered
the contest to the Seahawks, although reserve quarterback Drew Locke does deserve credit.
Moreover, Wilson Sr. and the Cardinals defense only needed to make 31 tackles last Sunday to get the win so they are well rested for the Seahawks offense. Not only rested, Wilson's absence versus the Seahawks last year left a void that won't appear in 2026. Speaking of voids, without former running back Kenneth Walker III, Wilson Sr. and safety Budda Baker have all the reason to believe they can get revenge on their rivals this time around.
Ultimately, the Cardinals want to stay afloat in what is anticipated to be a very competitive NFC West division this season. At State Farm Stadium this weekend, they'll have the opportunity to do exactly that and to put a sour taste in the mouth of Seahawks' fans.
