The Arizona Cardinals made a number of practice squad moves on Wednesday, adding three new players. Tight end Shawn Bowman was signed to the active roster, creating one vacancy, and they released defensive lineman Jay Toia and linebacker Eugene Asante.
Asante signed with the team during training camp. Toia was signed to the practice squad on Sept. 23.
Their new additions are running back Jerome Ford, receiver Shedrick Jackson and linebacker Riley Wilson.
Rookie running back Jeremiyah Love has an ankle injury he is dealing with, so the addition of Ford suggests Love might not be able to practice all week. Without Love, the Cardinals would have only three running backs between the 53-man roster (Tyler Allgeier, Bam Knight) and practice squad (Evan
Hull). Ford gives them a fourth.
The trade of Marvin Harrison Jr. gave the Cardinals one less receiver to practice with, while Wilson replaces Asante.
RB Jerome Ford
Ford played the last four seasons for the Cleveland Browns. he is 5-10 and 210 pounds, and he played 57 games (18 starts) with Cthe Browns and had 340 carries for 1,463 yards and seven touchdowns to go along with 107 receptions for 647 yards and five touchdowns. He played 13 games with the Browns last season and spent this offseason with the Washington Commanders before joining the Minnesota Vikings practice squad earlier this season.
WR Shedrick Jackson
Jackson is 6-1 and 202 pounds. He has 10 career games played, five with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2023 and five with the Las Vegas Raiders last season. He had four receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown last year. He entered the league with Cincinnati in 2023 as an undrafted rookie free agent from Auburn and spent his first two seasons with the Bengals. He was on the Ravens practice squad earlier this season.
LB Riley Wilson
Wilson is 6-1 and 230 pounds as an inside linebacker. He finished his college career at Arizona in 2025 and entered the league with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a rookie free agent. He spent the preseason with the New England Patriots and was on their practice squad earlier this season. In addition to playing at Arizona, Wilson also played collegiately at Montana (2023-24) and Hawaii (2020-22) and appeared in 53 games with 193 tackles (85 solo) 16.0 sacks, 34.5 tackles for loss, nine passes defensed and two interceptions.
