The Arizona Cardinals defeated the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday 26-14 in their season opener. There were solid performances from many players. Not everyone's was great.
Who were the studs and dud from the Cardinals' win?
STUD: QB Jacoby Brissett
Brissett had an easy 277-yard, one-touchdown performance. He completed 27 of his 37 passes. He got rid of the ball quickly. He didn't find himself in any real high-leverage situations. He simply continued his passing performance from last season, only this time it wasn't in a big deficit. He played from ahead.
STUD: TE Trey McBride
McBride is the Cardinals' best player and showed it again. He had nine catches for 95 yards and a touchdown, doing it a lot against one of the league's best safeties in Derwin James.
STUD: WR Kendrick Bourne
Bourne was fantastic in his Arizona debut.
While everyone talks about McBride and receivers Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson, Bourne had eight catches for 75 yards, catching every target his way.
STUD: S Andrew Wingard
"Dewey" had a fantastic game. He had four tackles, two for loss, and he forced both LA turnovers with a forced fumble and an interception.
DUD: WR Marvin Harrison Jr.
Harrison had a highlight-reel 33-yard catch, but that was it. He was only targeted three times and had the one catch.
DUD: P Blake Gillikin
His punting average looked good, averaging 52.7 yards per kick, but he only punted three times and twice they were touchbacks.
