Arizona Cardinals fans will get to have a first look at what the offense and defense might look like in the regular season. Head coach Mike LaFleur told reporters on Tuesday, the final day of training camp in Glendale, Arizona, that starters would get action in the team's preseason game on the road against the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday.
"They're all going to play," LaFleur said. "We'll have our guys out there." He said that would include starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett, although the starters won't go for long. "(It) could be one drive (or a) max of two for those main guys, but yeah, they'll be playing and they know that."
That means fans will see rookie running back Jeremiyah Love and everyone who is healthy in action.
The Raiders are
expected to play their starters, too, which means, for a series or two, we will see what the Cardinals starters look like against other NFL starters, albeit against the Las Vegas Raiders, who were the worst team in the NFL last season.
The offense played well in the Hall of Fame Game. The defense did not.
Will that be different when the starters are out there? That is what we are waiting to see.
The Cardinals and Raiders kick off at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. Arizona time) on Thursday.
