The Arizona Cardinals left Texas on Sunday as winners, defeating the Dallas Cowboys 33-30 in overtime after trailing by 14 points. However, in the comeback win, they were decimated by injuries that probably will impact the roster in the weeks to come.
RB Jeremiyah Love
Love, returning after a two-game absence with an ankle injury, hurt his ankle again in the first half. He did not return after nine carries for 23 yards. His right foot twisted laterally, which might be another high ankle sprain. We will know more in the days to come how much time he might miss, but if it is a high sprain, it will be multiple weeks.
WR Kendrick Bourne
Bourne left the game right before the end of the first half with a high ankle sprain. After the game, head coach Mike LaFleur said that Bourne's injury
"certainly didn't look good," so we can guess he will be out multiple weeks, at least.
RB Bam Knight
Knight got hit hard and fumbled before halftime and left the game with a concussion. He will have to clear concussion protocol to return. With how he came off the field, it would be a surprise if he doesn't miss at least one game.
LaFleur said after the game it was a neck injury, and that has cost some players the season already.
LT Jayden Williams
Williams suffered a knee injury in the second half and was immediately ruled out. That usually means he will be out a while. If his injury is season-ending, it means the Cardinals will have lost two left tackles to season-ending injuries.
WR Reggie Virgil
Virgil, late in the fourth quarter, collided with the goalpost attempting to make a catch. He hit it with his hip and lower back. He was helped off the field and was in visible pain. LaFleur said it was a lower back injury.
WR Michael Wilson
Wilson had been limited in practice during the week with a rib injury. He played the entire game but revealed afterward that he is playing with two broken ribs.
The Cardinals play the Seattle Seahawks in Week 9. It appears they will be down many players and that several roster moves are coming.
