The Arizona Cardinals have trimmed their roster to 53 players. They made trades, they cut players, they waived another with an injury designation and moved three players to reserves from which they can return.
While there will be more roster moves to come on Monday and beyond, let's have a look at the Cardinals' first 53-man roster of the 2026 season.
Cardinals 53-man roster: Offense
Quarterback
- Jacoby Brissett
- Gardner Minshew
- Carson Beck
This went as expected.
Running back
- Tyler Allgeier
- Jeremiyah Love
- Bam Knight
James Conner is on injured reserve, which gave some hope that Evan Hull would make the roster. They go with three on the roster, despite injury uncertainty with Love's ankle sprain.
Wide receiver
- Marvin Harrison Jr.
- Michael Wilson
- Kendrick Bourne
- Devin Duvernay
- Jalen Brooks
- Simi Fehoko
- Reggie Virgil
They go with seven for now. It is hard to believe they will keep seven, but we will see. Brooks, Fehoko and Virgil all deserved to be on the roster.
Tight end
- Trey McBride
- Elijah Higgins
- Hunter Long
The
Cardinals traded for Long, moved Tip Reiman to the regular-season PUP reserve and cut everyone else.
Offensive line
- Paris Johnson
- Isaac Seumalo
- Hjalte Froholdt
- Isaiah Adams
- Elijah Wilkinson
- Jon Gaines
- Josh Fryar
- Jayden Williams
- Hayden Conner
This went as expected, especially with Adams having hurt his knee. Gaines will start at right guard if Adams isn't ready to go, which means Conner would be the backup guard/center.
Cardinals 53-man roster: Defense
Defensive line
- Walter Nolen
- Roy Lopez
- L.J. Collier
- Dante Stills
- Andrew Billings
- Darius Robinson
Zach Carter can come back later, as he is on injured reserve, designated to return. There are no surprises here.
Outside linebacker
- Josh Sweat
- Zaven Collins
- Baron Browning
- Jordan Burch
- Eku Leota
Leota beat out BJ Ojulari, the former second-round pick. Leota played heavily on special teams in the preseason. He figures to have a role like Victor Dimukeje did for a few years.
Inside linebacker
- Mack Wilson
- Jack Gibbens
- Cody Simon
- Karson Sharar
Sharar beat out Owen Pappoe.
Cornerback
- Will Johnson
- Denzel Burke
- Max Melton
- Garrett Williams
- Kei'Trel Clark
Clark manages to sneak onto the roster again. Sean Murphy-Bunting and former third-round pick Elijah Jones were released.
Safety
- Budda Baker
- Andrew Wingard
- Dadrion Taylor-Demerson
- Kitan Crawford
- Wydett Williams
Williams is the only undrafted rookie to make the team. He is a surprise, but he might have made it because of Taylor-Demerson's rib injury.
Special teams
- K Chad Ryland
- P Blake Gillikin
- LS Casey Kreiter
This is as expected.
