The Arizona Cardinals made a change with their starting quarterback this week. They weren't the only team to do so. One of their upcoming opponents also named a new starting quarterback.
The Philadelphia Eagles, who lost starter Jalen Hurts for the rest of the season due to blood clots, replaced Tanner McKee as the starter with Joe Milton.
Milton was signed by the Eagles off the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad on Oct. 16.
The Cardinals face the Eagles in four weeks in Week 13.
McKee started three games, all losses for the Eagles. He completed 63.2% of his passes for 638 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions for a passer rating of 76.6. He averaged 5.6 yards per attempt.
Milton is big and athletic. The Cardinals faced him in the preseason when
he was with the Cowboys. In the Cowboys' 34-13 preseason win over Arizona, Milton completed 9-of-13 passes for 179 yards and two scores, and he rushed for a touchdown as well.
Milton brings a threat of mobility that McKee doesn't have. That gives the Eagles something offensively they had with Hurts but lost.
The game is still weeks away, but it is something to watch in the weekends to come.
