The Arizona Cardinals made some moves on their practice squad this week. There are some new faces. There were some injuries.
On Tuesday, some moves were announced, and then additions were made on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, rookie receiver Harrison Wallace III was signed from the practice squad to the active roster. Tight end Kenny Yeboah, elevated over the weekend to play on Sunday, got hurt and was placed on practice squad injured reserve. They released defensive lineman Cam Horsley.
That created three vacancies.
They filled one on Tuesday, re-signing tight end Rivaldo Fairweather to the practice squad. He was on the Cardinals' active roster at the end of last season and spent all offseason and preseason with the team before getting cut before the season.
On Wednesday, they announced two signings to the unit — running back Jermar Jefferson and receiver James Proche II.
Jefferson spent time with the Cardinals on their practice squad and active roster last season. He appeared in two games, playing six snaps on special teams. Jefferson was a seventh-round pick in 2021 of the Detroit Lions. He is 5-10 and 215 pounds. For four years, he bounced between the practice squad and the active roster of the Lions. He has 96 career rushing yards on 21 attempts in nine career games.
Proche is a 5-11, 193-pound veteran who was drafted in the sixth round in 2020 by the Baltimore Ravens. In six NFL seasons between the Ravens, Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans, he has played in 70 games and has 34 receptions for 364 yards. He has also returned 68 punts and 60 kickoffs in his career, averaging 8.7 yards per punt return and 15.0 yards per kick return.
