The Seattle Seahawks had their final day of practice Friday prior to a walkthrough Saturday in preparation for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals and released their final injury report of the week.
Quarterback Sam Darnold was declared out by head coach Mike Macdonald on Wednesday, and Drew Lock will be the starter. Safeties Ty Okada and Nick Emmanwori are out and questionable, respectively. Both were inactive in Week 1.
The full details of the Seahawks' final Week 2 injury report are below. Starters are noted with an asterisk.
Seahawks Week 2 final injury report
Ruled out
- *QB Sam Darnold (glute): DNP, DNP, DNP
- *S Ty Okada (hamstring): DNP, DNP, DNP
"We all have faith in Drew," defensive tackle Leonard Williams said. "We believe that he's the best second-string quarterback in the league. Since I've been here, before he went to the Giants, he stepped
up big time. I remember that Eagles game a few years back where he stepped up and won us the game. He's done it and shown it multiple times now. That has instilled a lot of trust in his teammates and his team."
Lock helped the Seahawks defeat the New England Patriots in the NFL’s first game of the season last week after Darnold was injured, and that was without having first-team reps in practice.
"It's night and day different," Lock said. "Being able to get a couple reps of these plays under your belt. Not all of them are live; a big chunk of it goes back to walkthroughs, but being able to say, 'There isn't a call on this sheet that I haven't at least walked through,' is way different than what you get in a week. I'll walk through every play on a normal week, but being able to get those live reps, throw Jax (Jaxon Smith-Njigba) a go ball. Rip AJ Barner something, who knows. To be able to get those live reps is huge."
Questionable
- *RG Anthony Bradford (knee): LIM, LIM, DNP
- S Nick Emmanwori (ankle/hip): LIM, LIM, LIM
Asked about it being tough game-planning not knowing if Emmanwori will play, Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur said, “Yeah, it does. Fully expect him to play. We’re prepped for that. Definitely saw him first-hand last year. He’s a chess piece. Call him a nickel, but he’s not a nickel, he’s a linebacker. So, we’ll treat him as such. With that being said, he’s a DB, too. He has cover skills, he’s long and big and strong and fast; all the things you want in that position.”
As for Bradford, Christian Haynes will be the starter if Bradford is unable to play.
