The Arizona Cardinals take on the Seattle Seahawks this weekend, but in Week 10 they will face the Los Angeles Rams at home. The Rams have lost one of their starters on defense for the rest of the season.
On Wednesday, Rams head coach Sean McVay announced that starting cornerback Jaylen Watson needs surgery on his shoulder and will be out the rest of the season. Watson was one of their big offseason acquisitions on defense, bolstering the secondary with Trent McDuffie.
In seven games, he had one interception and seven pass breakups.
The Cardinals missed McDuffie in Week 6 when they beat the Rams on the road. Watson played in that game. McDuffie has returned from injury, but now Watson is done for the year. Josh Wallace will replace Watson in the starting
lineup, and Emmanuel Forbes will likely see an increased role.
Wallace had eight tackles and broke up two passes in Week 6 against the Cardinals.
