Rookie running back Jeremiyah Love is the new must-watch player in the Cardinals' offense, but veteran Tyler Allgeier could be a valuable pickup in fantasy drafts this year.
After spending much of his time in Atlanta as a backup to Bijan Robinson, Allgeier signed with the Cardinals in March. According to USA TODAY Sports Fantasy projections, Allgeier currently ranks as RB49 in standard scoring leagues, and RB50 in PPR formats - meaning he should be available in the latter rounds of a draft.
Here's USA TODAY Sports' Jacob Camenker on why you should keep an eye on Allgeier in the second half of a draft:
"Jeremiyah Love is rightly getting a lot of the attention in Arizona after being the No. 3 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. However, the rookie
is now dealing with a high-ankle sprain, and it isn't clear whether he will be ready for Week 1. If he's not, or if he's limited, Allgeier will be in line for an increased workload. He's a more than capable fill-in and could be a low-end RB2 early in the season as Love eases into action."
USA TODAY Sports Fantasy's latest preseason projections estimate Allgeier to rush for 450+ yards with 4+ rushing touchdowns. In his final season in Atlanta, Allgeier bested both those marks, rushing for eight TDs in 2025.
