The Arizona Cardinals could get a safety back this week but have lost another to injury.
Rookie safety Wydett Williams suffered a concussion on Sunday and is under concussion protocol. Head coach Mike LaFleur said on Monday he won't clear it this week before they play the LA Rams on Sunday. With Andrew Wingard still dealing with a knee injury, that would leave only Budda Baker and Dadrion Taylor-Demerson healthy and available.
However, help could be on the way, as Kitan Crawford was designated to return from injured reserve on Wednesday and had his 21-day practice window opened. That move allows him to start practice despite still being on injured reserve, and he can be reinstated to the active roster at anytime during that window. If he has not
been reinstated at the conclusion of the 21 days, he reverts to injured reserve for the rest of the season.
Crawford suffered an ankle injury in Week 1 against the Los Angeles Chargers. This was the first week he was eligible to return.
We will see if he ultimately will be activated this weekend.
The Cardinals play the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday at SoFi Stadium at 4:05 p.m. ET (1:05 p.m. Arizona time).
