The Arizona Cardinals open the regular season this week on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers on the road. The Cardinals are projected to be one of the league's worst teams in 2026, and the Chargers are coming off a playoff appearance with expectations of competing in 2026.
As such, there is no surprise that the Cardinals are big underdogs.
In fact, they are the biggest underdogs of the week, per BetMGM Sportsbook.
While the spread opened at -10 for the Chargers, it has since shifted. By Monday night, they were 9.5-point favorites, and on Tuesday, the spread dropped to nine.
Only three games have at least a seven-point spread.
- Detroit Lions (-7) at home vs. New Orleans Saints
- Jacksonville Jaguars (-8.5) at home vs. Cleveland Browns
- Los Angeles Chargers (-9) at home vs. Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals are underdogs in every game this season and are underdogs by at least a touchdown in their first 11 games.
If that is going to change, they will have to show it on the field. They do not have the juice to change how people outside Arizona look at them without some suprising performances.
They kick off on Sunday against the Chargers at 4:25 p.m. ET from SoFi Stadium.
