The Arizona Cardinals will be at home in Week 2 facing the defending champion Seattle Seahawks. The Cardinals are coming off a Week 1 26-14 upset win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The Seahawks rallied from down 10-0 to beat the New England Patriots 13-10 behind backup quarterback Drew Lock, who entered the game after Sam Darnold exited in the first quarter with a gluteal injury.
What can the Cardinals expect from the Seahawks in Week 2? There are three things to know from the Seahawks' Week 1 win.
They take the ball away
They picked off Patriots quarterback Drake Maye three times in Week 1, all three times in the fourth quarter. And the Seahawks capitalized, scoring after the first two takeaways to take the lead and then running the clock out after the final interception
in the end zone.
They do not allow running backs to get yards
The Patriots rushed for 109 yards, but 47 of those came from Maye scrambling. Seattle's defense held Rhamondre Stevenson and former Cardinal Corey Kiner to 62 yards on 24 attempts, an average of 2.6 yards per carry.
JSN is still a monster
Receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba was last season's Offensive Player of the Year, and he started the season dominant. He had eight receptions for 122 yards and a touchdown in Week 1. He is their top target. The Seahawks attempted 24 passes in Week 1. Eleven were thrown JSN's way.
