The deal is done. After over 24 hours of wondering where wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. would land in a trade from the Arizona Cardinals and what compensation the Cardinals would get, we have that information. Just as the Cardinals' game against the Detroit Lions was beginning, the deal was reported by multiple outlets.
Harrison is headed to the Houston Texans with a 2027 seventh-round pick, reuniting with quarterback C.J. Stroud, who was his quarterback at Ohio State.
The Cardinals get two draft picks in return, 2027 selections in the second and sixth rounds.
Harrison was deactivated before the Cardinals' game against the Lions. The Texans won their first game of the year with a 26-3 win over the Tennessee Titans.
Harrison, drafted fourth overall
in 2024 by the Cardinals, had a disappointing time with the Cardinals.
His rookie season was good but not great. He had 62 catches for 885 yards and eight touchdowns, tying a Cardinals single-season rookie record for touchdowns scored. Last season, he missed time with appendicitis and heel injuries, and he had 41 catches for 608 yards and four scores in 12 games.
Through four games this season, he was targeted only 13 times, catching five passes for 85 yards and a touchdown.
Considering Harrison's production, the Cardinals managed to get a decent return with the second-round pick and improving a round with the seventh-round pick turning into a sixth.
