The Arizona Cardinals play their second game of the preseason on Thursday, taking on the Las Vegas Raiders on the road. For Las Vegas, it is their preseason opener. The Cardinals got an extra game because they played in the Hall of Fame Game last Thursday, a 33-30 last-second loss to the Carolina Panthers.
This game kicks off Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET (5 p.m. Arizona time) from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Starters for both teams will see action.
Knowing that, here are the Cardinals players to watch vs. the Raiders.
QB Jacoby Brissett
Brissett didn't practice in the offseason and didn't play last week. This is his first game action in the team's new offense. He was up and down in training camp. Watch for his timing with his receivers, the cadence with the snap
count and how he looks moving around a little bit. He won't be in the game long, but even limited action will give fans information they need.
RB Jeremiyah Love
He also won't play much, but this will be his first NFL game action. How will he look against the Raiders' starters? Will he show explosiveness? Will he be trapped behind a struggling offensive line? Will fans have their breath taken away when he touches the ball?
OL Elijah Wilkinson
He will only play for al ittle bit, but the belief is that he will be the weak spot in the offensive line. How does he look against the Raiders?
RB Trey Benson
Will Benson play? He had his knee flare up and he missed the Hall of Fame Game. With Bam Knight looking solid with every opportunity given, Benson's shot at making the team seems less and less likely.
DL Walter Nolen
He has been nicked up in camp. He played only six games as a rookie, but he looked promising in those six games. How will he look in limited snaps against the Raiders?
CBs Max Melton/Denzel Burke
The two are battling for the starting job opposite Will Johnson. Will one separate himself from the other, or will both play at the same level?
