A look back at the 1938 season for the Cardinals
In 1938, the Cardinals were a last-place team, going 2-9. They started 1-1 then lost eight games in a row. Their only two wins of the season came against the Cleveland Rams.
They averaged only 10.1 points per game and allowed 15.3. They were shut out four times and scored fewer than 10 points seven times.

The Cardinals had two NFL All-Stars.

- C Phil Dougherty
Dougherty was a rookie. Tinsley was also a second-team All-Pro.
Jack Robbins was the Cardinals' leading
passer. He passed for 577 yards, two touchdowns and nine interceptions. Robbins also led the team with 213 rushing yards, although he did not score a touchdown.
Tinsley led the NFL with 41 catches for 516 yards and one touchdown.
