Week 4 of ACC football might be a little less entertaining than Week 3's many insane conference matchups. However, that doesn't mean there aren't any premier conference matchups. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets head to the Stanford Cardinal for a near-midnight showdown that wraps up ACC football perfectly this week.
The Yellow Jackets (1-2) have been disappointing after a breakthrough year where they nearly made the College Football Playoff. They had a close loss to Colorado and a blowout loss to Tennessee that showed the major flaws in the Yellow Jackets. However, Georgia Tech is hoping the win against Mercer is their form moving forward.
The Stanford Cardinal (1-2) have been somewhat surprising despite their record. They won 37-27 against Hawaii,
a game they lost last season. Unfortunately, they've fallen back down to earth, losing to Miami 45-6 and Duke 35-6, but a matchup against Georgia Tech could be exactly what they need to show their growth as a program.

There's a reason why this is a pick-em. With what both teams have showed, this competition is pretty even.
Stanford has something that could really wreck the Yellow Jackets: a competent running game. When Micah Ford is on, Stanford's offense runs like a well coached unit. Ford had 99 yards and three touchdowns against Hawaii, but he had just 27 yards against Miami. Georgia Tech's defense let up big plays against Mercer, so Ford could feast.
Georgia Tech probably has the talent advantage on offense. Alberto Mendoza has been solid in three starts, looking like he isn't too big for the moment, especially against Colorado. The wide receiver room shined against Mercer, and Stanford's secondary hasn't been able to stop competent passing attacks in the past, so Georgia Tech could ride Mendoza to the finish line.
Overall, I think Georgia Tech's offense should be better than Stanford's. The Cardinal have gained yardage, but they've reached the end zone just once in the last two games. Georgia Tech should bounce back to form with a win here.
