Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Julian Lewis was taken to a hospital on Wednesday after suffering a medical emergency at the team's athletic facility, his father announced on Thursday.
"Yesterday, Julian experienced a medical emergency at the University of Colorado athletic facility and was promptly transported to the hospital," his father, T. Carlton Lewis, wrote on social media. "He is recovering and thankful to his medical team, teammates, and Colorado fans for their prayers and support. Please respect Julian and the Lewis family's privacy. We will have no further comment at this time."
Lewis started Colorado's first four games before being replaced by Isaac Wilson, who has started the past three games since. The Buffaloes are 2-5 overall and
on a five-game losing streak.
Lewis is in his second year with the program after signing with them as a four-star prospect and one of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 recruiting class. He played in four games last year and was looking to take a step in his first season as the full starter. He completed 64.2% (61-95) of his passes for 733 yards, six touchdowns, and two interceptions before losing his starting job and has not played since.
