Entering his fifth season in Eugene, Oregon coach Dan Lanning has had some time to soak in Ducks culture and history during his tenure with the team.
Lanning was recently asked by The Journey Media who constitutes his all-time Mount Rushmore of Ducks legends. He came up with two names instantly.
"Got to be Marcus," Lanning said, referring to Marcus Mariota. "Haloti Ngata."
The Ducks' coach then had to pause a little bit to think about the other directions he wanted to go in.
"The hard part is when you get to the backs. I mean, De'Anthony (Thomas) probably because of what he did, and how he changed the position," Lanning said.
Lanning thought about adding another defensive player to round it out but ultimately stayed in the backfield.
"Give me LaMichael
James," Lanning said.
Oregon's head coach also threw in a few honorable mentions, such as Dan Fouts and Penei Sewell.
