Big Ten leading rusher Emmett Johnson to the NFL, who scampered for 1,451 yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground a year ago.
The Bobcats lost leading rusher Sieh Bangura after a season in which he ran for 1,392 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2025. Both teams might have to focus more on their passing game this season after such notable losses in the backfield.
Enter Anthony Colandrea, a transfer quarterback who led the Mountain West in passing yards last season for UNLV. This tends to give Rhule an advantage over Hauser, who is starting a quarterback who has attempted 57 career passes in Nick Poulos. The Cornhuskers' offense may be a work in progress from an identity perspective, but they figure to be in a better spot than the Bobcats right now.
