Week 10 of the College Football season has a loaded slate on the docket. After a Halloween weekend full of upsets, this week could be another crazy one. That's certainly the case, with the Duke Blue Devils heading on the road to face the N.C. State Wolfpack in a classic North Carolina rivalry.
Duke (6-2) has done well in defending their ACC title from last season. They had a rocky stretch to start their ACC slate: two straight losses to bottom-dweller Georgia Tech and in-state rival UNC. However, they rebounded to form, winning the ACC championship rematch against Virginia and beating Boston College 47-2.
N.C. State (4-4)is looking to keep the interim bump going. They fired Dave Doeren after a shocking loss to Stanford. They had a blowout loss to Virginia
to start the season and one of the most inexplicable losses of the year to Vanderbilt too, but the Stanford loss was the straw that broke the camel's back. Still, the Wolfpack were able to flex their talent under interim boss Todd Goebbel, winning 31-10 against Cal.

Duke vs. N.C. State prediction, pick
Duke's offensive game plan is methodical, and it could definitely be in this game. They want to get Nate Sheppard going and give Jeremiah Hasley as many touches as possible. Walker Eget is dependable but not spectacular, but the Blue Devils rarely turn over the ball (0.7 giveaways per game, ranked No. 15). Their run defense is a strong unit, and the front seven is the heart and soul of their defense. The secondary plays cautiously like the offense; not a ton of interceptions, but not a lot of yards given up.
N.C. State has come and gone the way of C.J. Bailey. He hasn't had an outright bad game since the Virginia game, but he's become hesitant to push the ball downfield, even though when he does, it leads to good results. Their running game has been ok, but they'll need Bailey at his best to win this game.
Unfortunately, I just don't see N.C. State's defense giving Nate Sheppard a problem. The Wolfpack are playing more motivated under Goebbel right now, but Duke is certainly not going to let their ACC championship dreams fall in this game. I think they win close.
