Florida State coach Mike Norvell entered the 2026 season occupying one of the hottest seats in college football, and speculation about his job security ramped up this week after the school fired athletic director Michael Alford.
That athletic department leadership change may not bode well for Norvell's future. Adding fuel to the fire, a post went viral on X that purportedly showed moving trucks outside of Norvell's house in Tallahassee.
Norvell was asked about the post at his press conference on Monday, and he laughed it off.
"I don't look a whole lot online. For me, all of our focus is on this team, and that's where I live," Norvell said. "There can be plenty of speculation, there can be plenty of things that are out there, and I get the opportunity
to show up every day, bring the right attitude, bring the right mentality, bring the right work, pouring into this team, pouring into these players. I believe in that."
"There have been disappointing results, and I have never sat here and tried to make an excuse, not once since I have been here. I don't do that. This is a result-oriented business; our results have not been as good as we want them to be. I believe in the process, the work, and the players I coach, and we get to go be better."

Norvell went on to say that the box trucks at his house were part of a furniture delivery bringing a desk he bought for his daughter, Mila, per Noles247.
While FSU fans hoping for an early move on Norvell will be disappointed, he still has a lot of work to do to get things back on track after consecutive losing seasons. That starts with a Week 3 road rematch against Alabama, which will certainly be out for blood.
