The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (2-4, 1-1 Sun Belt) have seen three of their four losses come by one possession, but they got back on track with a 27-21 win over Marshall last week. They try to secure another league win as they play host to Appalachian State (3-2, 0-1 Sun Belt).
The Mountaineers earned a nice early in-state win over East Carolina and gave NC State a run for its money, but they're coming off a disappointing 10-3 loss last week against Old Dominion.

The Coastal offense has struggled a bit despite quarterback Deuce Bailey being productive. He has 1,340 passing yards with 13 touchdowns and three picks, but he's also completing just over 50% of his passes. The Chanticleer defense is also struggling, giving up nearly 190 yards on the ground per game.
App also has a solid quarterback in Malachi Singleton, but it's putting a lot on him due to the struggles in the run game at the moment. The Mountaineer defense could be the difference in this one, though. It's an above-average G6 unit and is particularly strong against the pass.
Bailey completed just 8 of 18 passes for 73 yards last week, and he may have similar struggles in this one.
