Week 6 of ACC play digs into more conference play. There is tons of radiation from the fallout of Week 5's massive power rankings shakeup, and Week 6 could be another wild week of ACC football. That could be the case with the Duke Blue Devils (4-0) taking on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (1-3).
Duke (4-0) has started swimmingly. They've quashed the doubters who saw their 9-5 season (even after winning the ACC championship) and didn't think it was sustainable. They beat Tulane and Illinois, two teams they lost to last season, and they dominated Stanford in their first ACC conference game.
On the other hand, Georgia Tech (1-3) has disappointed. The Yellow Jackets have been on a downward spiral ever since they started 8-0 in 2025, and that has continued
into 2026, with close losses to Colorado and Stanford and a blowout loss to Tennessee. None of that was supposed to happen, and they're going to need to rebound after the bye.

Duke vs. Georgia Tech prediction, pick
This is a funny matchup. Duke matches up pretty well against Georgia Tech, but history says that Georgia Tech has a major advantage. The Yellow Jackets have been 5-0 in the last six seasons against Duke, including beating the undefeated Blue Devils in 2024. Brent Key has never lost to Manny Diaz.
Duke has one of the top running backs in the nation in Nate Sheppard, and Georgia Tech's defense hasn't been able to hold up against the run except for the Stanford game. Their front seven is also the strongest portion of their defense, and Georgia Tech could be playing without three starters on their offensive line. They will be without Ethan MacKenny.
However, Georgia Tech has several go-to receivers on offense, and Alberto Mendoza has looked composed in the pocket. Duke's passing defense hasn't been as good as their front seven.
I think this game is going to be closer than advertised. Brent Key has game-planned successfully against Manny Diaz many times before. However, I still think Duke has the advantage late. Sheppard can run out the clock in a potential comeback attempt by Georgia Tech, and the front seven will make plays to force long third downs for Georgia Tech. Duke wins by one score
