Star wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams is unlikely to play this weekend for the Alabama Crimson Tide against the Tennessee Volunteers, according to head coach Kalen DeBoer.
"Has got a couple things going on," DeBoer told Mike Rodak of Bama247. "Got to work through an injury with knee that's been kind of going on. We'll deal with that. Got the head issue, as well. Gonna address that, even the lower extremity there, this week. Pretty good chance we wouldn't have him here this weekend. Probably be week-to-week after that."
Coleman-Williams suffered the head injury in the fourth quarter of the 20-17 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday and was unable to return after taking the hit. He led Alabama with three receptions for 39 yards in the game.
He has been Alabama's No. 1 wideout all season, leading them with 23 receptions for 415 yards and four touchdowns. If he is unable to play on Saturday, the next men up for Alabama are Lotzeir Brooks and Rico Scott. Brooks is having a breakout sophomore season, catching 23 passes for 389 yards and one touchdown. Scott has 18 receptions for 224 yards and three touchdowns.
Alabama (5-1, 3-1 SEC) will release its initial injury report on Wednesday ahead of the game against Tennessee (5-1, 2-1), updating it every evening before releasing a final update on Saturday before the game. The game is set to start at 2:30 p.m. CT in Knoxville, airing on ABC.
