Week 7 is full of insane football games. There are several awesome conference matchups this week, but the biggest one is in Provo, Utah. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish travel on the road to face the BYU Cougars.
Notre Dame (6-0) has a national championship resume, but they haven't played a ranked opponent yet this season. They've beaten frisky opponents such as Wisconsin, Michigan State, and Purdue by more than two scores, but UNC had a good chance against them, pulling it to within a 21-20 game. The Fighting Irish pulled through to win 37-26, and they won the next game against the Stanford Cardinal 58-7.
Still, the BYU Cougars (5-0) will be stiff competition. They look like the best team in a very impressive Big 12 conference. Only the Colorado
State Buffaloes have scored more than 20 points against the Cougars, so despite their offense averaging just 23 points in conference play, they've held strong.

Notre Dame looked better than BYU so far. That could be against weaker competition than the Cougars, but the Fighting Irish have a very high ceiling, which is why they're favored.
CJ Carr has been fantastic so far. He is completing 71% of his passes, averaging 9.6 yards per attempt and has thrown 16 touchdowns to one interception. The running backs have made timely runs when needed as well.
For BYU, they'll have to lean on Bear Bachmeier for this game. He'll have to match Carr's excellence, especially with LJ Martin being out. Both Notre Dame and BYU have some of the best run defenses in the country, so it'll come down to Bachmeier vs. Carr.
Ultimately, I trust Carr, and I trust Marcus Freeman to make the necessary play calls to close it out. Give me Notre Dame by a score.
