Both of these schools have been in the news this week for different reasons, and that should make this primetime Big 12 tilt fascinating.
UCF shocked the college football world last week by taking down BYU 39-31 at home, with a reserve quarterback that had been playing average at best prior to the statement win. On the other side, Baylor parted ways with head coach Dave Aranda last week after the Bears suffered a disappointing loss against Kansas.

Baylor vs. UCF prediction, pick:
The Bears tabbed defensive coordinator Joe Klanderman as their interim head coach, and he'll be tasked with motivating a team
whose morale has sunk like a stone in recent weeks. Baylor's offense has struggled for much of the season, but Klanderman is probably going to make a concerted effort to get his best players the football for the rest of the season, so expect a ton of targets for wideout Gavin Freeman.
On the other side, UCF head coach Scott Frost is going to have an interesting decision to make after the Cougars game. The Knights have been patiently waiting for starting quarterback Alonza Barnett III to return from a hamstring injury, and had high hopes for him after his transfer from James Madison. However, Keyone Jenkins had his best game of the season last week, and it might be difficult to pull the plug on him right now.
Given all the moving parts, this is a tough game to figure out, but it feels like a decent bet that the Bears will come out with a ton of energy given their situation. UCF will have to guard against a letdown regardless of who is under center.
Prediction: Baylor 24, UCF 23
