Dan Lanning confirmed some unfortunate news for the Oregon Ducks on Monday night, announcing that wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan will miss time with a broken foot, according to Zachary Neel of Ducks Wire.
McClellan suffered the injury prior to their game on Friday against Portland State and did not play in the game, but was spotted on the sideline in a boot and using crutches. Oregon went on to win the game 84-0.
"JMac is going to be down for a little bit of time; broke his foot," Lanning told reporters during his press conference Monday. "There in pregame, kind of a weird deal. Fortunately, he's a tough guy and certainly somebody we relied on and will rely on in the future, so it's just a matter of when we can get him back."
McClellan has caught
seven passes for 170 yards and one touchdown in two games this season. He was sensational in their season opener against Boise State, catching six passes for 150 yards and one touchdown to help them hold off the Broncos.
Oregon (2-1) is set to open Big Ten play on the road against the USC Trojans (4-0, 1-0 Big Ten). The game is set to start at 4:30 p.m. PT and will air on NBC.
